FORGOTTEN WARRIORS: a peaceful journey with Native Spirits

The environment and beauty of Northern New Mexico are the setting for this celebration of life. Through art and narrative, Native men who dhare a hispanic ancestry take viewers on a journey across timeless landscapes of awareness, striving for a "unity of balance and forgiveness." Visually flowing images intercut with storytelling, prayer and music, this documentary is a search for the reconciliation of human life with natural life. The journey begins at sunrise with a prayer. We continue through pilgramages across sacred trails and alongside life-giving rivers. The story of Coyote, Rabbit and the Plums illustrates the lesson of changing illusions as we journey through life. We make brief sojourns in the modern world and continue through woven songs and sights to sunset. We end with a prayer to restore our spirit, that we might learn "to forgive ourselves, we forgotten warriors."
